Ishaq Dar Claims PMLN has Emerged as Largest Political Party in National Assembly

A leader from the PML-N party and former finance minister expressed concerns about certain TV channels providing incorrect information to the public. He asserted that the PML-N is presently the largest political party. He argued that independent candidates should not be considered a political party because they have three days to join one.

Ishaq Dar, a prominent figure in the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN), made a statement on a social media platform, X. In his message, Dar claimed that the PMLN has emerged as the largest political party in the National Assembly, and has also secured a significant majority in the Punjab Assembly.

Dar’s claim was based on data compiled by the PMLN election cell, as well as on publicly available results. He emphasized the importance of avoiding premature and biased speculations while awaiting the official and complete results from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

According to Dar, the data indicates that the PMLN has won 34 seats in the Punjab Assembly, while Independent candidates have secured 6 seats. He mentioned that these figures may change as the results are being updated. Additionally, Dar stated that PMLN currently holds 11 seats in the National Assembly, while Independent candidates have secured 15 seats.

Dar’s announcement aims to provide insights into the preliminary standings of the PMLN in the ongoing electoral process. However, it is crucial to note that these figures are subject to change once the official results are announced by the Election Commission of Pakistan.
