“It Won’t Happen Ever Again” says Kohli on Pakistan-India T-20 WC Thriller

The top batsman for India, Virat Kohli, recalls playing one of his most memorable innings when he single-handedly guided India to a thrilling victory over Pakistan in the T20 World Cup competition last year.

When asked about how he felt during the high-profile match in Melbourne during a corporate event, Kohli admitted that he was still in shock about what had actually happened that evening.

“I still can’t make any sense of it. That’s a very honest admission. And a lot of people have tried to ask me, What were you thinking? How did you plan? and I have no answers. The fact of the matter is that I was so much under pressure that my mind had shut off completely by the 12th or 13th over,” he said.

In the tense match against its biggest rivals, which came down to the last ball, the right-hander struck an unbeaten 82 from 53 balls. In front of a packed MCG stadium, India won by four wickets.

According to him, that is when his instinct had taken over. When he stopped thinking and planning, whatever God-given talent he had came to the surface and then he felt like something higher was guiding him. “What happened that night, I can never explain it, and it won’t happen ever again,” he concluded.
