Japanese Airline Launches ‘All-You-Can-Fly’ Pass for Under $300: Details Inside

A Japanese domestic airline has introduced an exciting travel option for young passengers. They are offering unlimited all-you-can-fly passes for a low price of 40,000 Japanese yen (less than $300). This special pass is available only to people under the age of 26 and allows them to travel between Tokyo and Kitakyushu, a city located about 600 miles southwest. Kitakyushu is where the airline’s headquarters are located.

Currently, the airline, called Starflyer, operates five domestic routes within Japan. It is uncertain whether the pass will be extended to their other routes.

For older passengers, there is a “Star Pass” available, but it comes at a higher price starting at 150,000 yen (£862). The airline’s aim is to encourage post-pandemic travel, especially among young people who may have financial limitations.

Since announcing the campaign on April 14, Starflyer has received an overwhelming response with 550 applicants vying for the pass. To ensure fairness, a lottery system has been implemented to select 90 lucky winners who will qualify for the offer.

This is not the first cost-saving initiative by Starflyer. The airline previously launched a monthly flight subscription that included flights between Tokyo and Fukuoka, along with the added benefit of including accommodation in the package.

Additionally, Starflyer offers discounts for people with disabilities. The discounted fare is available for customers aged 12 and over who meet specific criteria, such as having a physical disability certificate, a war-wounded certificate, a rehabilitation certificate, or a mental disability health and welfare notebook. Caregivers who travel with a passenger also qualify for the discounted fare.

These initiatives by Starflyer aim to make travel more accessible and affordable for different groups of people.
