Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the aircraft used to shoot down Indian planes were acquired during the presidency of Asif Ali Zardari.
He made these remarks while addressing a gathering at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh on the 18th anniversary of the martyrdom of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto.
While speaking to party workers and supporters, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari reflected on past decisions related to national defence and security.
He stated that key defence procurements carried out during Asif Ali Zardari’s time in office helped strengthen Pakistan’s military capabilities. According to him, these decisions played an important role in ensuring the country’s ability to respond effectively to external threats.
Bilawal also praised Pakistan’s Field Marshal, saying that strong military leadership and strategic planning had sent a clear message to India. He said that Pakistan’s defence strength served as a deterrent and helped maintain a balance of power in the region.
During his speech, the PPP chairman paid tribute to Benazir Bhutto, remembering her vision for a democratic and secure Pakistan. He said her sacrifices continue to guide the party’s political struggle and commitment to the people of Pakistan.
The event was attended by senior party leaders, workers, and supporters who gathered to remember Benazir Bhutto’s legacy. Bilawal emphasized that national security, democracy, and public welfare remain key priorities for the Pakistan Peoples Party.
His remarks once again brought attention to defence policies of past governments and highlighted the PPP’s stance on strengthening Pakistan’s security while honoring democratic values and leadership.
