As the first female chief judge of the Peshawar High Court (PHC), Justice Musarrat Hilali was sworn in on Saturday.
Justice Hilali took the oath of office at the event, which was conducted at the Governor House in Peshawar.
She will serve as chief justice until the Pakistani Judicial Commission appoints a permanent replacement (JCP).
The senior puisne judge of the court, Judge Hilali, received his congratulations and well wishes from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Haji Ghulam Ali, who also administered the oath.
Senior judicial and government representatives, including attorneys, the KP police chief Akhtar Hayat Khan, the province law secretary Masood Ahmad, and the special assistant to the acting chief minister Pir Haroon Shah were also present.
