Karachi Likely to Experience ‘Very Hot Weather’ in Next Few Days

The Citizen Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) has released the street crime statistics for Karachi in September 2024, showing a steady increase in crime across the city.

According to the report, a total of 5,533 incidents of street crime were recorded during the month. Among these, 3,982 cases involved the theft or snatching of motorcycles, making it the most common crime. Car thefts and snatchings accounted for 190 incidents. Additionally, 1,651 mobile phones were reported stolen from citizens throughout Karachi.

The data also revealed that the city experienced five cases of extortion and two incidents of kidnapping for ransom in September.

These figures suggest that street crime remains a serious and growing issue in Karachi, with a noticeable rise in incidents compared to previous months. Despite efforts from law enforcement, the city continues to face challenges in curbing such crimes.

The CPLC’s report highlights the ongoing need for stronger measures to tackle theft, extortion, and kidnappings in order to protect citizens and improve security in the city. Authorities are expected to respond with strategies to address this growing concern.
