Karachi Ranked Sixth Least-Livable City of the World

According to the World Bank, citizens and businesses in Karachi are experiencing a city unable to keep up with its physical development or equitably meet the basic needs of residents and local businesses.

The World Bank’s report “Fact Sheet: World Bank Involvement in Karachi,” Karachi is Pakistan’s economic centre, and the city aims to become a more livable, inclusive, and competitive city in order for Pakistan to achieve its full potential.

According to the 2019 Global Livability Index, Karachi is currently ranked among the bottom ten cities in the world in terms of livability. All measures of municipal services, as well as all dimensions of livability, health, climate, protection, and education, are low in Metro Karachi.
