According to the Met Office, the temperature in Karachi broke a record on Saturday, when it hit 44°C. The last time Karachi touched 44°C was on April 14, 1947.
On Saturday, the humidity in Karachi was 6 percent, as per Met Office. Owing to the heat wave, it advised people not to fly between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
From Sunday onwards, the temperature is expected to drop, said the Met Office.
It was expected that the heatwave would end on Sunday, with temperatures ranging from 36 to 38 degrees Celsius.
It went on to say that the temperature could drop even further from Monday onwards, as the weather is expected to stay between 34 and 36 degrees Celsius.
