Karachi Shivers as Temperature Falls to 7.1 C

Karachi had one of the coldest nights of this winter as temperatures dropped sharply across different parts of the city. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the lowest temperature was recorded at Jinnah Terminal, where the mercury fell to 7.1°C. Other areas also experienced cold conditions, with Gulistan-e-Johar recording 9.8°C, Bin Qasim 10.1°C, and Mauripur 11°C.

Overall, the average minimum temperature in Karachi was around 9.3°C, making the night unusually cold for residents. Many people felt the chill early in the morning, especially in open and coastal areas.

The weather department has forecast dry conditions for the next 24 hours. Daytime temperatures are expected to remain pleasant, ranging between 24°C and 26°C, while light north-easterly winds are likely to blow at a speed of about 7 kilometers per hour.

Cold weather was not limited to Karachi alone. Several other areas of Sindh also experienced very low temperatures. Mohenjo-Daro recorded a minimum temperature of 3°C, while Mithi saw temperatures drop to 4°C. Larkana also remained cold, with the mercury falling to 4.5°C. This cold spell has affected large parts of the province, making it one of the notable winter periods of the season.
