Karachi Will Be The 4th Largest Metropolitan In World By 2035

According to a United States intelligence study given every four years, Karachi is on track to become the world’s fourth largest city in 2035, with a population of 23.1 million. According to UNDP data from 2018, Karachi’s current population is estimated to be 14.91 million, putting it in 12th place among the world’s most populous cities.

The study was included in the US National Intelligence Council’s (NIC) Global Trends report this year, which was created to assist policymakers and individuals in anticipating the economic, environmental, technological, and demographic forces that will influence the world over the next 20 years.

According to the analysis, Pakistan is on track to become the world’s 23rd largest economy by 2040, based on its projected gross domestic product (GDP) rank, which is currently 39th.

“Our goal is to assist policymakers and citizens in preparing for a variety of conceivable futures,” the authors said, noting that they solicited input from a variety of groups while putting together the paper.
