A special restoration package has been announced for the flood hit areas of Swabi district. Package of amounting Rs. 1.2 billion has been reserved against it announced by the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mahmood Khan. He visited flood affected areas and confirmed that Rs. 1 billion for the restoration of damaged infrastructure and Rs. 200 million for repairing of electricity work.
Further he declared the financial help of Rs. 500,000 to the relatives of person who died in flood incident. Other than this Rs. 400,000 for damaged houses and Rs. 160,000 for partially damaged houses were also announced as a compensation.
Mahmood also instructed to irrigation department to estimate and prepare a report of damaged crops to increase the compensation amount.
Along with former National Assembly speaker Asad Qaiser, Shahram Khan Tarakai, Abdul Karim and district administration officials, he visited Baamkhel and other affected areas in order to have witness account of the damages. He also provided knowledge against this regards.
He made public believe that KP government is standard with flood affected victims in this difficult phase. Mahmood Khan also instructed to the concerned departments to clean everything from the banks of rivers and canals.
He observed that the damages scale could have been less if there was no encroachment on natural water channels.
Mahmood Khan distributed cheques of Rs 300,000 each amount deprived person’s family on the occasion.
