For Ramazan, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government plans to open 83 sasta bazaars and 52 kissan markets across the province, selling basic edibles at lower prices than the market.
It will also form a committee made up of the home and food secretaries, as well as the provincial police chief, to ensure inter-provincial cooperation for the uninterrupted supply of certain commodities during the month of fasting.
These measures are to be taken under the Ramazan Strategy, which was discussed during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mahmood Khan.
The meeting was attended by Kamran Bangash, special assistant to the chief minister on information, chief secretary Dr. Kazim Niaz, provincial police chief Dr. Sanaullah Abbasi, secretaries of related departments, and commissioners and deputy commissioners from all districts.
Thousands of administrative initiatives and interventions will be implemented at the regional, divisional, and district levels in the province as part of the Ramazan Strategy to provide the greatest possible price relief to the citizens during the fasting month.
