Following the removal of PTI Chairman Imran Khan from the post of Prime Minister, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Shah Farman, Punjab Governor Omar Sarfaraz Cheema, and Sindh Governor Imran Ismail are likely to tender their resignations, as with the matter, sources familiar with the matter revealed on Sunday.
According to Sources, Ismail is now attending a PTI meeting in Islamabad. Upon returning to Karachi, he is anticipated to send down his resignation, and his family remains in Karachi’s Governor’s House.
On the other hand, Shah Farman said he would step down as governor if PMLN President Shahbaz Sharif were elected Prime Minister of Pakistan.
“I cannot give Shahbaz the prime minister’s protocol,” Farman remarked.
Additionally, the sources said the newly appointed Punjab governor, Cheema, is also expected to step down after a few days in office.
Cheema was also summoned to Islamabad to attend the PTI Central Committee meeting.
