Punjab has been seriously affected by smog, with Lahore topping the list of cities with the poorest air quality in the world.
With a score of 321 on the Air Quality Index, Lahore remained the world’s most polluted city, while New Delhi came in second with 206 points. Ulan Bator, Mongolia’s capital, stayed third on the AQI with a reading of 205.
According to worldwide media reports and NASA research, the burning of crop residue and garbage in northern Indian states creates a worrisome increase in environmental pollution in the region.
