As per sources, recently the LHC (Lahore High Court) ordered the government of Punjab to hand over a pay cheque to the family members of the inspector who died while waiting for his salaries for 10 years.
During the hearing of the petition filed by late Mehmood Ali, the counsel for the provincial government informed Justice Shahid Kareem that some of the payment had been paid while the remaining amount would be paid soon.
Imran Raza Chadhar, representative of the petitioner, shared a statement that not even a single penny had been paid during the last 10 years. “Despite sickness my client had appeared in the court on the last date of the hearing.”
He added further, “After the hearing was over, he returned to his hometown in Kasur, but died on the way. Sadly, not a penny was paid even for his burial.”
Moreover, Punjab government’s lawyer informed that everything was done for the payment of the remaining income to the deceased’s family member and now just a thumb impression is required of one of his family members.
The late police inspector couldn’t be paid his salaries after he lost the service book.
