Lahore Jam Packed! Nearly 1 Million Vehicles Entered Lahore for Basant

Authorities in Lahore have completed detailed plans to manage the heavy traffic expected during the three-day Basant festival. Officials estimate that more than 500,000 cars and motorcycles will enter the city as people arrive from different areas to take part in the celebrations.

To keep traffic flowing smoothly and maintain law and order, a large number of security and traffic staff will be deployed across Lahore.

Around 10,000 police officers and 2,500 traffic wardens will be on duty throughout the festival. These teams will be supported by special patrol units placed on major roads, busy intersections, and key entry points into the city.

Chief Traffic Officer Athar Waheed said that additional personnel will be stationed at all entry and exit routes to prevent congestion and ensure smooth movement of vehicles. Traffic officers will also be present in high-traffic areas to guide drivers and reduce delays during peak hours.

To further strengthen monitoring, Safe City cameras will be used for live surveillance, especially in the Red Zone. These cameras will also monitor rooftops to ensure safety and help authorities respond quickly to any situation. Officials said this system will allow real-time tracking and faster action if any issues arise.

Authorities have urged citizens to follow traffic rules, cooperate with traffic wardens, and use designated routes during the festival. People are also advised to avoid unnecessary travel during busy hours and to plan their movements in advance.

With these measures in place, officials aim to ensure that Basant celebrations remain safe, organized, and enjoyable for everyone. The comprehensive traffic and security arrangements are meant to reduce inconvenience and help residents and visitors enjoy the festival without major disruptions.
