On Wednesday, Sources reported that publishers in Lahore have stopped printing books after raising paper prices. Anjuman-e-Tajran President Khalid Pervez said the paper price has increased from Rs 105 to Rs 210 per kg in recent months.
Rising paper costs have forced publishers to stop printing. Publishers who accepted the Punjab Text Board’s offer to publish books at Rs 190 per kg are also concerned about the rising cost of paper.
He asked the government to take note of the matter as they could not carry out their orders. The recent rise in fuel prices has sent the country into an inflationary storm.
Pakistan Railways (PR) increased train fares citing the recent increase in fuel prices.
According to a statement issued by PR, the 10% increase in train fares will come into effect on Friday, 17 June, while freight fares will increase by 15%.
The sources said that the fee increased after the price of petroleum products increased.
