Lahore to Islamabad Distance Cut by 100 Kilometers

The federal government has announced a big new plan to upgrade the road network and make travel between Lahore and Islamabad faster and easier. Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan shared that the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway will be extended to connect Kharian directly with Islamabad. The motorway will also be expanded to six lanes to handle more traffic smoothly.

This new extension will cut down the distance between Lahore and Islamabad by about 100 kilometers. As a result, travelers will be able to reach their destination almost an hour earlier than before. The new route is expected to reduce traffic jams on the busy M-2 Motorway as well.

This project is great news for people living in cities like Gujrat, Gujranwala, Jhelum, Kharian, and Gujar Khan, who will now have a shorter and faster route to the capital. It will make daily travel, business trips, and family visits much more convenient for thousands of commuters.

To make sure the work is completed on time and up to standard, officials have been given clear instructions to keep an eye on quality and progress. Along with this project, the government also talked about a 30-year infrastructure plan to meet Pakistan’s growing transport needs in the future.

The extension of the motorway is a key step to boost economic activities, save fuel costs, and make travel safer and more comfortable for everyone. This new road link will bring big benefits for both people and businesses across the region.
