Lahore’s Jinnah Cardiology Centre Renamed Maryam Nawaz Institute

The Jinnah Institute of Cardiology in Lahore has now been officially renamed as the Maryam Nawaz Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases. This change was approved by the provincial cabinet, and Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique has confirmed the decision.

The facility will now function as an independent, autonomous institution with its own governing board. It will no longer have any affiliation with Jinnah Hospital.

According to officials, the hospital has been developed with a modern and forward-looking vision. It will include advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence systems and robotic equipment to deliver world-class cardiac treatment. The goal is to meet the highest international standards in healthcare and to ensure patients receive the best possible care.

In addition to serving local patients, the institute aims to promote health tourism by attracting people from other countries who are seeking high-quality and advanced cardiac treatment. This could help position Lahore as a hub for specialized heart care in the region.

The new name for the hospital has already been officially recorded in the provincial budget and other government records. This marks a new chapter for the facility, as it strives to provide cutting-edge cardiac services to patients both in Pakistan and beyond.
