L’Oréal Pakistan recently welcomed His Excellency Nicolas Galey, Ambassador of France to Pakistan, to its headquarters in Karachi – a visit that underscored the company’s ongoing commitment to empowering communities, strengthening local capability, and deepening the partnership between France and Pakistan.
Since its establishment in 2009, L’Oréal Pakistan has evolved into a purpose-driven organization, combining French innovation with Pakistani talent and resilience. The visit celebrated this shared journey of progress and the real stories of transformation emerging through the company’s impact-led initiatives.
Welcoming the Ambassador, Rehan Saeed, Executive General Manager of L’Oréal Pakistan, reflected on the brand’s purpose and presence in the country.
“Since our journey began, L’Oréal Pakistan has grown into a beautiful harmony of French innovation and Pakistani spirit,” said Rehan Saeed. “From local manufacturing and partnerships to programs that empower women and youth, our focus has always been on creating meaningful, long-term impact.”
The company’s flagship initiatives – including the Digital Literacy Program with CIRCLE, Beauty for a Better Life with the Depilex SmileAgain Foundation, and Stand Up Against Street Harassment – have collectively empowered more than 72,000 women, positively impacting over 200,000 individuals across Pakistan. These programs equip women with digital literacy, financial confidence, and professional skills that enable sustainable livelihoods and independence.
During the event, beneficiaries from the Digital Literacy Program and Beauty for a Better Life shared their inspiring stories of resilience and success – women who overcame economic and social challenges to start small businesses, build confidence, and become role models within their communities.
Noreen, a 31-year-old entrepreneur from Karachi, shared how she transformed her home-based food business after joining the Digital Literacy Program with CIRCLE: “When I started, I struggled with using social media – I didn’t know how to reach customers online. Through the training, I learned how to set up my WhatsApp business page and today, I manage over 300 customers and my income has tripled.”
Her journey, like many others, served as a powerful reminder of how beauty, when rooted in purpose, can drive genuine social progress.
L’Oréal Pakistan’s growing local manufacturing footprint now covers its extensive mass-market portfolio, creating jobs and transferring technology across the local supply chain.
L’Oréal has played a pivotal role in supporting and building communities, including being the largest single corporate contributor during the floods, with a donation of €1 million.
Ambassador Galey commended the company’s leadership and impact, noting the alignment between France’s values and L’Oréal’s mission.
“L’Oréal Pakistan represents the best of what French companies bring to their international partnerships – innovation, inclusion, and a commitment to community,” said H.E. Nicolas Galey, Ambassador of France to Pakistan. “It is inspiring to see how these values are shaping lives here in Pakistan.”
He further highlighted the shared values between the two nations, adding:
“This partnership strengthens our collective voice. When France and Pakistan win together, everybody wins – and Pakistan grows too.”
The visit concluded with both sides reaffirming their shared commitment to strengthening collaboration between French enterprises and Pakistan’s private sector, driven by the principles of sustainable growth, inclusion, and purpose.
