Herbert Baitwababo has taken legal action by filing a lawsuit against the administrator of a WhatsApp group after being removed from it. The case was presented before a magistrate in Kampala, Uganda.
Baitwababo claims that on May 16, 2023, he sent a letter to the group’s admin, Allan Asinguza, asking for an audit report and transparency regarding the funds collected from registered members since the group’s establishment in 2017.
According to Baitwababo, the WhatsApp group called “Buyanja My Roots” was initially created to help with charitable causes, offer condolences, and provide support to individuals.
He also mentioned that the group had a specific focus on assisting people in the Buyanja sub-county, located in the Rukungiri district. Its main goal was to offer help and support to individuals living in that particular area.
