Mari Petroleum Helicopter Crash in North Waziristan, 6 Dead, 8 Injured

A helicopter operated by Mari Petroleum has crashed in northwestern Pakistan, leading to the deaths of six people and leaving eight others injured. According to initial reports, the crash appears to have been caused by a technical issue.

The helicopter, identified as a Mil Mi-8, was carrying a total of 14 people, including two foreign pilots. The incident occurred when the aircraft experienced engine failure and attempted to make an emergency landing. Unfortunately, during the landing attempt, the helicopter’s tail rotor struck the ground, which caused the helicopter to crash, resulting in the tragic loss of life.

Witnesses at the scene described the moment the helicopter’s tail hit the ground, causing the aircraft to go down. Authorities have quickly ruled out terrorism as a cause and are currently investigating the specific details of what led to the accident.

Those who were injured in the crash were rushed to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Thal for treatment. Their conditions are reported to be critical, and medical teams are working to provide the necessary care.
