According to initial reports, tremors were felt across the country and in some neighboring regions as well. Emergency response teams have been placed on alert, while local authorities are assessing the extent of damage to homes, roads, and infrastructure.
Casualty figures are yet to be confirmed but residents reported people rushing out of their homes in panic. This latest quake adds to Afghanistan’s ongoing struggle with frequent natural disasters.
