Massive Earthquake in Afghanistan Leaves Over 600 De@d, More Than 1,500 Injured

A powerful earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale struck eastern Afghanistan, causing widespread destruction and loss of life.

According to initial reports, at least 622 people have lost their lives, while more than 1,500 others have been injured. The quake created panic across the region, leaving behind scenes of devastation and despair.

In Kunar province, entire villages were flattened to the ground. Houses built of mud and stone could not withstand the impact, and many families were trapped under the debris.

Rescue operations began immediately, with emergency teams and helicopters rushing to evacuate survivors to safer places. Medical teams are working around the clock to treat the injured, while hospitals struggle to cope with the sudden influx of patients.

Authorities have expressed concern that the death toll may increase, as several remote areas remain cut off due to damaged roads and difficult terrain.

Poor communication and limited resources are making it harder for rescue workers to reach those in need. International aid organizations have also been alerted, and neighboring countries are being urged to send support.

This earthquake is one of the deadliest to hit Afghanistan in recent years. It has not only claimed lives but also destroyed homes, crops, and essential infrastructure, leaving thousands of families homeless. Survivors are now in urgent need of shelter, food, and clean water.

The Afghan government has declared an emergency and appealed for immediate assistance. As relief efforts continue, the people of Afghanistan face a long and difficult road to recovery.
