Employee recognition is one of the best ways to raise morale, motivation, and productivity. Studies suggest that “employee productivity, performance, and engagement are 14% higher in organizations with recognition programs than in those without them.” Very often we see that companies after meeting a specific target, jump onto the other and completely forget to appreciate the hard work put in by their team. This in turn leads to employee dissatisfaction and low morale.
Thankfully, there are some companies that understand the importance of employee recognition and one of those companies is McDonald’s Pakistan. At their Restaurant Manager’s Convention, McDonald’s Pakistan recognized and appreciated the efforts put in by their team for having a successful year despite the impact of Covid on the restaurant industry. Awards were given to the respective team members and a trip to the northern areas was also organized where employees were seen to be enjoying and relaxing. Needless to say, employees loved this little getaway and even took it upon social media to thank McDonald’s Pakistan for this token of appreciation.
Companies need to understand how essential it is to pass on appreciation where it’s due. Stephen R. Covey, author of The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People said “always treat your employees exactly as you want them to treat your best customers.” So, if you want a motivated team that is working on its full potential, then start rewarding your employees’ efforts.
