“Mera School” Programme launched by Punjab School Education Minister

Dr Murad Raas , the Punjab School Education Minister has recently announced “Mera School” programme that provides an opportunity to citizens who wanted to contribute for the improvement of existing public schools in Punjab.

According to the statement of Minister, the schools will not be under the control of programme’s community; however, the individuals will be allowed to easily and conveniently provide missing facilities or they can also provide their contribution for infrastructural or the other needs like for school libraries, computer labs, construction of new classrooms, furniture of school and for anything else.

He has unveiled that the department of school was receiving many requests from local citizens who wanted to contribute for the improvement of the public schools that already exist.

The minister also claimed and said about the enrollment drive that was launched on 1st February, 2021 that about 246,000 children had already been brought back to the schools in just 45 days in spite of the restrictions of coronavirus and he also added that these all were verified through Form-B that were received by the students.

However, as per the minister, department had set their programme’s target of bringing back around one million children to these public schools within a year so, it could save them from academic loss or lack of interest for studies.
