The prices of used Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon models in Pakistan have seen a major drop—by as much as Rs. 2 crore—after the government announced big cuts in import duties in the new budget.
This price reduction has made the high-end SUV more affordable for buyers in the resale market. Known for its luxury, strong performance, and unique design, the G-Wagon is a dream vehicle for many. Now, thanks to the lower taxes, several models of the G-Class are being sold at much cheaper prices than before.
Car dealers and auto market experts say this is a rare opportunity for people who have been planning to buy a luxury SUV but couldn’t afford it due to high import taxes. The decrease in prices has created a lot of interest among car lovers, especially in major cities like Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.
Some used G-Wagon models that were earlier priced above Rs. 8 crore are now being sold for Rs. 6 crore or even less, depending on the model, year, and condition. This sudden change has also brought more activity to the luxury car market in Pakistan.
While new vehicles still remain costly due to other taxes and fees, the resale segment has clearly benefitted from the revised import duty structure. Many believe this could boost the overall car market and lead to increased interest in other premium brands as well.
Buyers are now watching closely for further updates, hoping similar relief might apply to other imported vehicles soon.
