The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast an active westerly wave likely to impact various parts of the country from February 8 to 10, bringing rain, thunderstorms, gusty winds, and snowfall in mountainous regions.
In Balochistan, widespread rain accompanied by strong winds is expected on February 8–9, while snowfall over the hills may occur in Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, and nearby districts, potentially affecting travel in higher elevations.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is likely to experience rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall in hilly areas during February 9–10. Regions including Chitral, Swat, Abbottabad, Peshawar, and surrounding areas may also witness isolated hailstorms, especially during intense weather activity.
In Punjab and Islamabad, isolated rain and thunderstorms are expected, along with gusty winds and snowfall over hill stations such as Murree and the Galiyat, while Rawalpindi and adjoining districts may see brief but impactful weather spells.
Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir are forecast to receive rain and snowfall, with chances of isolated hail, particularly in upper regions. Meanwhile, coastal areas of Sindh may experience light rain or drizzle, bringing a slight change in weather conditions.
