Despite ongoing disputes over privacy and disinformation, Facebook’s parent company, Meta recently announced the launch of one of the world’s most powerful supercomputers to boost its data processing capacity.
As per the US tech giant, the array of machines could process images and video 20 times faster than their current systems.
The supercomputer, which is made up of thousands of processors, will be used to “seamlessly analyze text, photos, and video together; develop new augmented reality applications; and much more,” according to two of the company’s artificial intelligence (AI) researchers in a blog post.
Further, they plan to create AI tools that will allow people speaking multiple languages to understand each other in real time.
