After discussions with the PCB fell through, Mickey Arthur would not be making a comeback to Pakistan cricket.
Over the previous few weeks, Arthur and the PCB had been negotiating a new contract for Arthur’s position as head coach.
However, the PCB stated on Tuesday that Arthur couldn’t immediately assume the head coaching position due to his long-term commitment with Derbyshire. Although there were discussions between the two parties on a looser consulting role, the PCB claimed that it was “impossible to materialize for various reasons on both sides.”
The PCB announced that they would keep looking for a coach to take Saqlain Mushtaq’s position when his contract expires at the end of February.
