Due to potential privacy and security concerns, Apple issued an urgent warning to iPad and iPhone owners. Millions of iOS devices are at danger due to security issues. According to Apple developer Kosta Eleftheriou, the App Store is home to a variety of unauthorised movie streaming businesses.
There are numerous apps that contain movie trailers and photo filters in order to deceive users. To unlock new functions, the apps ask users to enter codes or share the app. Premium subscription tiers are also available in apps that accept Apple Pay, with Apple receiving a 15-30% cut.
According to Eleftheriou, the negative ratings also imply that these apps are unlawful, despite the fact that they have been available on the App Store for months.
He went on to say that ads for the apps were supported by social media influencers with “millions” of followers.
A legal battle has also been going on for quite some time. Eric Friedman, director of the company’s Risk and Fraud Engineering Algorithms [FEAR] section, dubbed the App Store security “knife to the point” in legal documents in the continuing “Eric Vs Apple” process. Friedman compared the App Store review process to the attractive girl who welcomes you at the Hawaiian airport rather than the drug dog.
