Former Pakistan cricket team captain, Misbah-ul-Haq, has been appointed as an advisor to Zaka Ashraf, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management committee. This advisory role is unpaid, and Misbah declined a full-time position due to his existing commitments.
As an advisor, Misbah will share his valuable experience and insights, particularly in matters concerning domestic cricket, to support the chairman in improving Pakistani cricket. He had previously stated that the PCB had not approached him for a coaching or chief selector position, as he is occupied with other responsibilities, such as involvement with leagues and television channels.
In the past, Misbah held both team selection and coaching roles, but he stepped down as head coach when Ramiz Raja became PCB chairman in September 2021. Now, he will contribute his expertise to the PCB in an advisory capacity.
