On July 5, 2023, popular internet personality Mr.Beast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, joined the new social media app Threads. He wrote “Future Threads CEO” in his bio.Within 6 hours, Mr.Beast gained the most followers on the app, surpassing Mark Zuckerberg. In a post, he playfully requested Zuckerberg to appoint him as the CEO of Threads.
This isn’t the first time Mr.Beast has jokingly expressed his desire to become the CEO of a social media platform. In 2022, he asked Elon Musk to make him the CEO of Twitter after Musk acquired the company.
