Muhammad Amir Likely to Miss Pakistan Vs Ireland T201 Series Due to Visa Issue

There’s uncertainty surrounding Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir’s involvement in the upcoming three T20 matches against Ireland as he hasn’t received his visa yet.

While the Pakistani team has already reached Ireland for the series starting on May 10, Amir is still in Pakistan.

If Amir doesn’t get his visa by Thursday, he’ll need to meet the team in Leeds on May 15 for the T20I series in England. It’s worth noting that Amir has previously played a Test match in Ireland back in 2018.

At present, there’s no backup player lined up if Amir can’t make it to the matches, which could affect Pakistan’s preparations for the World Cup since he plays a crucial role in the squad.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is in constant communication with Cricket Ireland regarding Amir’s visa status. Despite all players, including Amir, applying for visas right after the Kakul camp, the PCB is eagerly waiting for Amir’s visa to be approved.
