In the second innings of the second Test match between Pakistan and South Africa, wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan scored a brilliant century and continued his fine form with the bat. In Test cricket, this was Rizwan’s first century, having scored six half-centuries prior to this in 12 matches.
Rizwan is presently one of the world’s finest wicket keepers in cricket and has been among the wicket keepers with the highest batting average since 2018. Rizwan made his Test debut in 2016, but till 2019 he did not establish himself as the side’s regular wicket-keeper. Rizwan has made his own place since then and has made important contributions to the team.
Since 2018, Rizwan has averaged 46.31 and has scored 741 runs in 18 innings. No other wicket-keeper averages more with the bat than Rizwan during this time period. Rizwan also has a healthy career average of 44.35 in 20 innings.
