Murree authorities have launched a special safety campaign called “Mission Safe Winter” ahead of the expected snowfall to protect tourists and local residents. The aim of this initiative is to reduce risks, manage traffic, and ensure quick emergency response during harsh winter conditions.
The district administration, along with the police, has introduced a complete safety plan that includes both digital monitoring and on-ground arrangements. Tourists are strongly advised to avoid unnecessary travel, especially during heavy snowfall, to prevent accidents and road blockages.
From January 17 to January 21, the entire police force in Murree will remain on high alert. Additional police personnel have been deployed at key locations to manage traffic, assist visitors, and respond to emergencies. Senior police officers will be present in the field to personally monitor the situation and ensure smooth coordination among all departments.
Modern technology is also being used to improve safety. Safe City cameras will provide real-time monitoring of roads, traffic flow, and weather conditions. This will help authorities quickly identify problems such as congestion, accidents, or stranded vehicles.
Patrolling has been increased, especially on steep roads and areas prone to landslides. Emergency response teams, including rescue and medical services, are on standby to act immediately if needed. Machinery for snow removal and road clearance has also been prepared to keep main routes open.
Authorities have urged tourists to follow official instructions, check weather updates before traveling, and cooperate with law enforcement. “Mission Safe Winter” reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring a safe, organized, and enjoyable winter season for everyone visiting Murree.
