A wealthy Muslim businessman is constructing a large mosque in the busy entertainment area of London, according to The Mail on Sunday.
Asif Aziz, who is often referred to as ‘Mr West End’ due to his property ventures, is overseeing the development of a three-story mosque and Islamic center in the Trocadero. The Trocadero is located between Piccadilly Circus and Soho.
The new mosque, which will have three floors, is being built in the space that became vacant after a cinema called Metro closed down in 2006. It will have a capacity to accommodate up to 390 worshippers.
