Swedish mural artist Domi Forrest has brought her distinctive, nature-inspired art to Karachi, painting two breathtaking murals as part of the World Culture Festival. Known internationally for her fusion of mythology, nature, and human connection, Forrest’s vibrant creations have added a new artistic dimension to the city’s cultural landscape.
Sharing her thoughts on her first-ever visit to Pakistan, Forrest described the experience as “an amazing one full of positive energy and kindness.” She said she felt deeply inspired by the hospitality, creativity, and enthusiasm of the people she met.
Her latest murals in Karachi reflect powerful symbolism drawn from her Scandinavian roots. The artwork features a Viking boat symbolizing strength and exploration, bear paws representing safety and masculinity, and a fetus depicting the origin of life.
Speaking about the deeper meaning behind her creations, Forrest explained that “the eyes are a window to the soul,” expressing her belief that art connects the spiritual and natural worlds.
Her visit to Pakistan, part of the festival’s international art exchange program, aims to promote cross-cultural understanding through creative expression. The World Culture Festival has brought together artists from over 140 countries, celebrating diversity and artistic collaboration.
Forrest’s murals now stand as symbols of friendship, unity, and creativity, marking her debut in Pakistan as a moment of shared inspiration between Sweden and Pakistan’s vibrant art communities.
