From October 2017 to June 30, 2021, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) recovered Rs535.783 billion. According to official statistics.
Today, reputable national and international organizations such as Transparency International Pakistan, World Economic Forum, Global Pace Canada, PILDAT, and Mishal Pakistan have not only praised NAB’s efforts to eradicate corruption, but according to the Gilani and Gallup Survey, about 59 percent of people have shown their trust in NAB, which is led by Justice Javed Iqbal, Chairman NAB.
The NAB’s performance throughout the present leadership’s tenure was outstanding, and a significant improvement was made as compared to prior governments’ tenures. During the present government’s time, the NAB recovered a total of roughly Rs527 billion, with an overall recovery rate of Rs822.538 billion since its foundation (1999 to June 2021).
Since its founding, the NAB has received 496,460 complaints, of which 487,124 have been resolved. The National Arbitration Board (NAB) has approved 16,093 Complaint Verification (CVs), with 15,378 CVs completed. The NAB has allowed a total of 10,241 inquiries, of which 9,275 have been completed.
Since its founding, NAB has authorised 4,654 investigations, of which 4,358 have been successfully completed. Since its foundation, the NAB has recovered Rs. 822 billion in direct and indirect losses.
NAB submitted 3754 references in various Learned Accountability Courts, with Learned Accountability Courts ruling on 2477 of them. At the moment, 1273 references totaling Rs. 1335.019 billion are being heard in various Learned Accountability Courts. The National Anti-Corruption Bureau was elected as the inaugural Chairman of the SAARC Anti-Corruption Forum. The National Accountability Bureau has struck an agreement with China to oversee CPEC projects in Pakistan.
