According to reports, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has charged Muhammad Akbar, a labourer from Karachi, with money laundering.
Between 2016 and 2017, 200 Japanese cars were acquired in Akbar’s name, according to the circumstances of the lawsuit.
The accused was set to come before an accountability panel for an interview on June 24, but his personal financial situation prevented him from covering travel costs.
Muhammad Akbar stated to reporters in response to the NAB’s summons that he has never visited Japan and only works as a shuttering labourer in Karachi.
He disputed all of the charges levelled against him and was bewildered as to how “a labourer” could “purchase 200 automobiles from Japan” when he “doesn’t have ticket to fly to Rawalpindi.”
The NAB has yet to offer any specifics about its future course of action in the case because the accused failed to appear for his scheduled appointment with the NAB’s investigation team.
