NADRA has opened three new National Registration Centres in Karachi that will stay open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. These new centres are located in Malir Cantt, Malir, and Surjani Town. They have been set up to make it easier for people to get their Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) and family registration services without delays.
This step is part of NADRA’s larger plan to modernize Pakistan’s identity system the biggest update since 2002. The aim is to make registration services simpler, faster, and more reliable for everyone.
Among the major changes is the introduction of biometric B-Forms for children older than three years. This will help keep better records of children across the country. The Family Registration Certificate (FRC) has also been upgraded and will now be accepted for legal matters, which means families can use it for important claims or official work.
Another important change is that married women can now choose to keep their father’s name on their CNICs instead of changing it to their husband’s name. This gives women more freedom in how they want their identity documents to appear.
In addition to these new centres, NADRA’s services are now available through its mobile app and at around 1,200 union councils across Pakistan. This makes it more convenient for people to access important services close to their homes.
These steps show that NADRA is working hard to improve the registration system, making it more modern and user-friendly for all citizens.
