Nasir Iqbal, Noor Zaman Lead Pakistan into Asian Doubles Squash Semifinals

Pakistan’s talented squash players, Noor Zaman and Nasir Iqbal, have advanced to the semifinals of the Asian Doubles Squash Championship after a hard-fought victory against South Korea in Kuching. The exciting match ended with scores of 11-3, 5-11, and 11-4 in favor of the Pakistani pair, securing their place among the final four teams in the competition.

Earlier in the tournament, Noor and Nasir showed strong performance in the group stage, defeating Chinese Taipei with a comfortable 11-2, 11-9 win. As the second-seeded team in the championship, they had already recorded convincing wins over the Philippines and another team from South Korea.

Their next challenge will be against Malaysia in the semifinals, scheduled for tomorrow. The match is expected to be intense, as both teams fight for a place in the finals.

Noor Zaman, who currently holds the title of World Under-23 champion, faced a difficult individual match earlier in the event, where he lost in five games due to a back spasm. However, the duo’s excellent teamwork and strong comeback in the doubles format have reignited Pakistan’s hopes for a title in the tournament.

Their journey so far has shown great determination, skill, and national pride, making them a team to watch as the championship moves closer to the final rounds.
