Due to clearance issues thousands of containers are stuck at Port Wasim Karachi, according to the senate standing committee on finance.
Asim Ahmad FBR’s (federal board of revenue) Chairman stated the senate standing committee on finance that around 3000 containers are stranded at Karachi Port Asim because if clearance issues, as per details.
He further informed that around 640 containers of food and cosmetics goods are already expired.
However, the remaining ones consist of mobile phones, vehicles, home appliances and furniture.
It is pertinent to mention that such containers are stranded due to import policy orders, misdeclaration and the letters of credit (LCs) weren’t open.
Whereas, some are stuck because of import ban.
