NED University to Get New Hockey Turf

Despite the Pakistan hockey team facing difficulties, there’s good news for the sport as plans are in motion to improve facilities. Next month, a new synthetic turf will be set up at NED University. This turf, brought in from England, is top-notch and meets the standards of European hockey teams.

Starting in March, workers will begin laying down the blue turf as part of NED University’s efforts to upgrade its sports facilities. These improvements cover a range of sports including cricket, athletics, football, tennis, and indoor games.

The project is part of a larger sports complex at NED University, which already boasts a floodlights cricket stadium, a tartan track, and a high-performance center. The next step involves adding floodlights and seating for spectators at the hockey ground, making it suitable for hosting national and international matches.

By completing these upgrades, the university aims to become a major center for sports development and competitions, supported by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Intervarsity competitions.
