YouTube, the world’s most popular video sharing service, is undergoing a transformation that you will despise.
If you watch YouTube videos on TV, you’ll quickly notice 30-second advertisements that you can’t skip.
This means that using the YouTube app on TV will be similar to watching a traditional TV channel.
The video platform announced that such 30-second advertisements will be available on the platform.
YouTube currently has unskippable ads lasting 15 seconds.
However, under the new changes, this duration will be increased to 30 seconds, as will the number of such advertisements.
According to the company, the change will be implemented first in the United States and Canada, and then globally in the coming months.
Along with 30-second ads, YouTube pause experiences are now available in the TV app.
When a video is paused, advertisements will appear on the side.
