Under the newly announced directive, no vehicle will be allowed to enter motorways unless it meets strict fitness and safety requirements. Authorities have been instructed to conduct rigorous inspections, with particular emphasis on tyre condition. Vehicles found with worn-out, damaged, weak, or expired tyres will be denied entry, as faulty tyres are considered a major contributing factor in high-speed accidents. In addition to tyres, other essential components such as brakes, lights, and overall mechanical condition will also be examined to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Importantly, the regulation applies uniformly to all categories of vehicles, including private cars, passenger buses, transport vans, and heavy commercial trucks. Officials have been directed to ensure there is no leniency or selective enforcement, and inspections must be carried out consistently across the board. The aim is to eliminate negligence and ensure that every vehicle traveling on motorways is roadworthy and safe for high-speed travel.
