New Saudi Airline Riyadh Air Begins Massive Hiring Ahead of Takeoff

Saudi Arabia’s new Airline, Riyadh Air, is hiring pilots as it prepares for takeoff in 2025. The Airline, launched by the Kingdom’s sovereign wealth fund Public Investment Fund (PIF), ordered up to 72 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner planes in April 2023. The aim is to support Saudi Arabia’s goal of serving 330 million passengers and attracting 100 million visits by 2030.

Peter Bellew, the chief operating officer of Riyadh Air, encourages experienced pilots with training on the Boeing 787-9 or Boeing 777 Aircraft to explore online opportunities. Interviews start in September 2023, and formal induction begins in January 2024. Over the next three years, Riyadh Air plans to hire 700 pilots for its expanding fleet.

The aviation sector has recovered strongly after the pandemic, driven by increased demand for travel. Dubai’s flagship carrier added 17,160 employees in the last financial year, and flydubai plans to hire over 1,000 employees this year.
