Nigerian Pilgrim has Reportedly Returned $80,000 She Found to the Owner in Saudi Arabia

A Nigerian pilgrim named Aishatu y’an Guru Nahuce, hailing from Zamfara State, has made headlines for returning $80,000 she found in Saudi Arabia to its rightful owner. The Independent Hajj Reporters of Nigeria shared the story on their Facebook page, along with a photo of the pilgrim from Bungudu Local Government Area.

The Facebook post read, “Hajiya Aishatu y’an Guru Nahuce, a Nigerian pilgrim from Zamfara State, found $80,000 (N56,000,000) and handed it over to the Zamfara Pilgrims Welfare Agency official for its safe return to the owner. May Almighty Allah reward her honesty and accept her Hajj. Amen.”

Since then, numerous commendations have poured in for Aishatu. One commenter, Isa Abba Kyari, expressed his hope for abundant blessings and suggested that the Zamfara state government should offer a special reward to inspire others. Kayode Festus Abdulgafar proposed that the Nigerian government bestow a national award upon Aishatu upon her return.

Sani Suleiman also offered his appreciation, stating, “Allahu akbar, this is a great legacy for her and her family. May Allah accept her Hajj with infinite mercy.” Chiri Sarki recommended that the Hajj commission create a donation account to support and recognize her.

However, some individuals raised concerns about the large amount of money and questioned the circumstances surrounding its loss. Abdullahi Muhammad Balarabe suggested that the Saudi authorities investigate the owner, while Ramalan Ahmed found the situation puzzling and questioned why someone would carry such a sum during pilgrimage.
