NLC & Uzbekistan Railways Signed MoU to Enhance Trade, Transport & Logistics

The National Logistics Corporation (NLC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Uzbekistan Railways Joint Stock Company (JSC) “O’zbekiston temir yo’llari” to boost cooperation in transport, logistics, and transit trade.

The signing ceremony took place in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. The MoU was signed by Maj Gen Farrukh Shahzad Rao, the Director General of NLC, and Mr. Rakhmetov Khikmatulla Narzullayevich, the First Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC “O’zbekiston temir yo’llari.”

This agreement outlines several steps for both organizations to work together. They plan to expand cooperation in multimodal logistics, providing comprehensive end-to-end solutions. NLC and Uzbekistan Railways will focus on increasing freight transportation and attracting more cargo through both countries. They will also build logistics facilities, warehouses, and transit terminals in each country to support these efforts.

During the ceremony, Maj Gen Farrukh Shahzad Rao spoke about NLC’s proactive initiatives for regional connectivity, especially emphasizing land-based transportation to the Central Asian Republics and other countries in the region. He highlighted that this cooperation would benefit the business communities by strengthening trade relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, as well as other regional countries.

Mr. Rakhmetov Khikmatulla Narzullayevich, the First Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC, expressed his enthusiasm about partnering with Pakistan’s leading logistics organization. He noted that this collaboration would provide faster and more cost-effective logistics solutions for traders in both countries.
