Now You Can Generate AI Images in the Google Search Engine

Google has introduced a new feature in its Search engine that allows users in the United States, who have opted for the experimental Search Generative Engine (SGE), to generate images using text prompts.

This means you can describe what you want, and Google will provide images matching your description. To prevent these images from being mistaken as human-created, they will have labels and watermarks indicating that AI generated them. Google is working to ensure that these AI-generated images do not promote harmful or misleading content.

In addition, Google is launching a tool called ‘About this image’ to provide information about images, like when they were first found and where they have been seen online.

SGE is also equipped with AI capabilities for creating written drafts in response to user queries. For instance, if you need to write an email to return a product, you can ask SGE to generate a draft for you, saving time and effort.

This feature helps summarize information from various sources and make it easier for users to find what they’re looking for. It’s a bit like the feature Google introduced earlier this year, which provides more context in search results.
